Crocodile Handbag, Hermès Paris, c1940s

Exceptionally rare and unusual Hermès handbag. Crafted in glossy black crocodile with a turn-lock "Tourniquet" closure. Despite being nearly 80 years old, the crocodile skins are still supple and the fitted lambskin interior is in good shape. While there are indeed areas of wear, one can only imagine the places this bag has travelled on the arm of a very chic owner. Measuring approximately 10x6x2", it is structurally sound and in good vintage condition with expected wear to the handle and other loses as shown in the images. A wonderful early example of Hermès quality.
